clocks winds down in Bangkok

There's now less than a day until Bangkok leaves your Mafia Wars game - possibly for good.

I have been focusing on Bangkok since we were told it would close, and I'm still only a little over halfway done. I think I can make it, though. I worked my way backwards, and am almost done with Oyabun, so hopefully the most demanding part is past me.

Betrayal in Bangkok hits the feeds

You can miss the latest event, Betrayal In Bangkok. It's in the feeds, and you'll get the big newspaper graphic when you log in the game, as well as a pop-up. Not to mention the Mafia Wars home page banner :D

Global Mission: Betrayal In Bangkok

Bangkok Closes August 3rd

Zynga has released the banner for the upcoming Betrayal In Bangkok mission event. It's hard to miss the timer up at the top, with the words "Bangkok Closing In" in front of a blank timer.

At 12 noon Pacific time tomorrow the 27th, the mission event should kick off, and is supposed to last a week. During the event we'll get 5x mastery in Bangkok (thank GOD!), and at the end of the week, we get booted out of Bangkok.

We'll also be able to loot this item, the Iron and Silk, a weapon with (74,73) for stats. Not shabby, and we'll get the item from both fights and jobs.

Naturally, we'll have to collect an item, called the Forger's Glove from Free Gifts, and also Pirates.

 The Dragontongue is the grand prize for the event, and it looks badass! It has stats of (151,60).

Mission: Ties to Bangkok

Mission: The Ties That Bind has now closed and tomorrow Mission: Betrayal in Bangkok will start. I enjoyed having the Ruby Loot event in the same city as the weekly mission... splitting my time between two cities I feel like I am missing out on one loot or the other.

Are you ready for the end of Bangkok? I sold off all of my loot long ago... and have used most of my Baht for healing during this past Ice Season... soooo... I may be in a Bangkok Baht Bind!

Here's hoping for a fun last fling as we start a week filled with Hummingbirds on ice.

Ya know, these weekly updates aren't really that cool when you know they leave off most of what's really coming for the next week...Someone please tell Zynga to stop wasting our time with these blog posts. The last few weeks they haven't revealed even half of what was to come. Yes, we KNOW there is going to be a freaking mission event. What else?
