Okay so I'm all excited and it says "Buy any 25 items*" oh looky an *asterisk*! What's that about?

Scroll your eyes to the bottom to see, just as in previous "sale events" that "any" means "any item costing more than 5 Reward Points" and voila! The payout of a Javelin Thrower is pretty decent if you are willing to dump that much more cash into this game at this time.

I would think that for spending a minimum of 125 Reward Points to get the top item, it would have an equally high defense as it has attack. I guess not? Pffft. No sale here. Even with 50% off Reward Points, I'm on a serious Mafia Wars spending diet this week.

Is Zynga out of their minds????? This sale is an EPIC FAIL for so many reasons.  I'll give you three:

FIRST: We JUST had a sale!!! Good grief give us a break!!! It isn't our fault you screw up everything you touch and are going broke.  You should have listened to your player base back when you had over million people who gave a rats ass about mafia wars.  Now it is just 100,000 players and their minis LMFAO.

SECOND:  No sale on game card redemption.  That was really the only reason I got loaded on reward points - the 50% discount.  Hell, it's a good deal.  But this time - no deal. Maybe they will offer it before the end of the sale (but honestly, I hope they don't even bother).

THIRD: Reward points purchased in game with CC or FB credits are not their usual 50% to 60% off.  Hell, at the time of this writing they were not even 30% or 40%.

It is terrible timing for me.  It has rained non-stop where I live, and in the construction business that means little or no work, so my MWs fund is very low.  I will largely be sitting this sale out.  OH WELL. The more frequently they have these sales the more obvious it becomes that I am an idiot to continue to blow money on them.  SCREW YOU ZYNGA.  SCREW YOU MARK PINCUS.  Lol.  I love saying that. It just feels.....right.

March Madness...???

I think most of us are familiar with the phrase "event fatigue", right? Well I am going to try and coin a new phrase: "Discount Fatigue". Right now there is ANOTHER huge sale in the marketplace. Reward points are 50% off, and game cards are 50% off at redemption, buy 15 items and get an awesome item, blah, blah, blah - you know the drill. The appropriately named "March Madness" sale is here. From the banner:

As a moderate spender I am starting to get tired of these sales. I can't keep up. Is there going to be a huge fire sale every got-dang time something newsworthy is going on in the real world? Can we expect one for Easter? How about the beginning of the Major League Baseball Season? My best friend's second cousin is having a baby, should zynga throw a fire sale? I mean HOLY HELL, slow the crap down!!! But then of course, why should they? I guess this is when us reward point buyers go nuts - the problem is, it really is "madness" to keep doing it every other freaking week. I can afford it, but they question is: should I? How smart is it to throw tons of money at a potentially sinking ship? Making beds in a burning house?

Don't get me wrong - I still hold to my opinion that there is nothing wrong with me or you or anyone spending a little money on Mafia Wars. It's like buying yourself and a date dinner and tickets to a movie every now and then. But these constant blow out sales are losing there meaning. It's hyper-saturation. When I wake up in the morning, see a new fire sale and nervously say to myself: "damn it I gotta go get more game cards after work", it makes one reflect on such a state of mind. - {ℳ} ßrµ†µ§

Correction - $15.00 Game Card

Earlier today I posted a blog about the sale, and stated that the $15.00 Game Card should net 180 RPs. Well I just redeemed one and it gave me 190 Reward Points. And I have corrected the earlier post. I am also told that a $5.00 Gamecard gives an even better ratio but I have never been able to find one. Bonjour!

It's Reigning Women Sale

I personally love these sales. It is the only time I buy crates. Plus, GC redemption is 50% off, possibly only for today. If you buy GCs then be aware that $15 cards offer the best rate, and today they should net 190 RPs.

If you can't get get physical GCs in your area then you can purchase them online at https://company.zynga.com/game-cards/buy-ecards . But be aware that there is often a delay when purchasing online GCs. After purchasing the online card you will receive an e-mail with the PIN #, sometimes it can take several hours to receive it. OK there you have it. I know i will personally be blowing a sizeable wad of cash today on RPs. I know, I'm an idiot. Oh well :) - {ℳ} ßrµ†µ§

50% is better with Gamecards

As most of you probably know, 50% is the name of the game today. 50% on RPs bought in game, redeemed with Facebook Credits or 50% off Game Card redemptions. If you spend money on this game then you should know that the better deal is with the Game Cards. And FYI, $25 Game Cards offer the best ratio (even without the 50% sale). Let me lay it out for ya: one $25 dollar game card offers 310 RPs today, but $25 will only get you 215 RPs if you buy them in the game with a credit card or FB credits. A $50 Game Card will net you 6 RPs LESS than two $25 Game Cards (614 VS. 620). $10 cards normally net 60 RPs, so today they should net 120 RPs. There are also $15 Game Cards available (i have seen them at Wal-Mart), but I have never purchased one before so I cannot speak to them. I went with two $25 cards for 620 RPs :) So, as Tom Haverford from Parks and Recreation would say, "Treat yourself!!!"
