Bloody Christmas begins

Celebrate the bloody Christmas spirit with these incredible deals! ....so this is pretty much the usual marketplace gimmick of buy 15 items and earn a loot item, the Hitman, but at least there will be sales on many other items that some of us use, and a good sale on Reward Points. I'm kind of ticked that apparently someone at Zynga had time to mess with the official Mafia Wars blog to make a post about this, yet we still don't have the "This and Next Week" post.

After buying 15 items and scoring the Hitman, you can even brag about it with a post to your news feed. No, nothing comes from it; it's a useless post and only takes you to the Marketplace.  Kinda not worth posting.

Buy any 15 items* to get a Hitman. Santa's coming early this year, and he's bringing his helpers along! It's a very merry Christmas for great deals! Earn a Hitman before the event ends on December 26th at 11:59PM PST.

* Loyalty Program, Fight Club, Pawnshop, Treasure Chest keys, Skill Point Reallocation and items selling for less than 5RP do not qualify for prize.

Bloody Christmas sale coming soon

There's a new banner on your Mafia Wars home page, a teaser about the upcoming Bloody Christmas sale. This was announced last week on the official Mafia Wars blog, and no doubt some of the loot items added today are for this 'event'. It sounds like a gimmick geared toward getting us to buy; hopefully there will be items on sale that we can actually use, like stamina refills and skill point reallocation.

Coming Soon: Bloody Christmas

From the official Mafia Wars blog:

Santa Claus is coming to town and, when he does, he'll have Zynga Gift Card & eCard redemption bonuses with him. If you're thinking strategically, that makes now a bloody good time to stock up on Zynga Gift Cards and eCards!

Is this an event? or just another gimmick where we get extra stuff when we redeem gift cards?
