Not Naughty Enough...the Naughty Videos Store

Well, i had no plans to build yet ANOTHER stupid limited time property, and I was not surprised to see my feed full of news that there is a glitch associated with it.  I don't even know what the glitch is and I don't care.  I do not even know what this property offers.  I don't care.  Frankly I don't know why anyone does.  I have 69 choices of properties to build from already and still limited to 5 free builds every 18 hours.  So I'm gonna waste my time with this one? Does it offer more than 20 health or more than 6 attack, defense, stamina or energy?  Sorry, the temporary boost to my loot score isn't worth all the damn posting, clicking, and begging.

Frankly, I'm annoyed that I have to move to another page of properties to get to the ones I actually use.  Sorry Zynga, yet another fail. You fail at everything.  I cannot wait to be FREE from from this addiction.  You make it easier and easier everyday with all your glitches, events, restrictions, and modifications ;)

I don't need your naughty videos.

The end is near...for me anyway.

It has been far too long since i blogged.  And I think I finally have something to say.  It is time to quit mafia wars.  I am sure it won't be easy for me, and might take a couple months to totally detox, but it is clear to me now:  I should not spend any more money on this game and should start spending less time on it.  Zynga doesn't deserve meh :P

It has been a fight with zynga from the beginning.  They have fought the player base tooth and nail.  They killed our beloved trading communities.  They loaded us down with event after event.  They failed to fix glitches and errors that were actually annoying and instead made changes to the way we became accustomed to playing the game. They bombarded us with "fire sales"/marketplace promotions.  They continue to offer double builds at very annoying and limited times that are hard for working americans like me to catch (when the obvious simple solution is to make the double builds triggered individually on a timer).  They continue to dump limited time properties on us.  They created an exclusive "VIP" program.

They drove away millions of mafia wars players.

I think the final straw was that I, like many of you, now no longer get proper experience points when attacked, or am being limited to a certain amount. I am now relegated to 25k experience every 5 minutes. (But the final, FINAL, straw was reading of yet ANOTHER limited time property, the Naughty one or whatever it is going to be called.)

Mafia Wars has been a central part of my life for 4 years solid now.  It has been so much fun, and I have made so many real friends.  Zynga truly created something special. But they screwed it up beyond all recognition (i believe the expression is FUBAR :v ).  I mean, this game has gone to places that I don't think Mark Pincus could have ever dreamed up.  The social side of this game is HUGE!!! So many war pages and family pages and help centres and secret groups and blogs and on and on.  I have seen true friendships, and relationships, and even a marriage result from mafia wars.  I have seen amazing teamwork, and hierarchy, and organisation, and camaraderie.  And the camaraderie...that is what really makes it hard to quit.

But it is time.  The game has become not unlike a drug addiction.  The fun part of getting high every day is over. Now it's become this miserable slavery of spending and time consumption and dealing with zynga's crap.

TO ZYNGA AND MARK: you ruined this game.  Just like you are ruining your company. I hope you go bankrupt Mr. Pincus.  That might make me feel better about the stupid amount of money i sent you.

TO ALL MY FRIENDS and FOES: I love you all. You made this game fun and amazing.  Without you there is no mafia wars. And so many of you are leaving the game.

TO ALL THE QUITTERS:  Yes i have strongly disliked the quitters, but soon, I am joining you ;)

From the artist formally known as {ℳ} ßrµ╬µ§, I bid you adieu.

There is a boycott set to begin at 12:00 AM June 23rd Pacific (California) Time. The FB page for the boycott group is here

***UPDATE*** Mafia Wars/Zynga Fail 6/12

***UPDATE***
Games are back up and running as of 11:17 AM Pacific Time.

No, Zynga, the Intertubes are fine. Zynga is broken.  I have tried various ways to discover the problem, and here's what I got: 404 error at Farmville, Mafia Wars, and all Zynga games according to reports from other Facebookers.

At MafiaWars.com a server error, so we cannot log in there to play.

So I closed the error pop up and clicked "Support" and got this notice:

And as per the usual, the Official Mafia Wars Blog is about as informative as a billboard from 1999.
I guess we'll have to wait and see if Zynga ever comes up for air again.

Rewards Card and Femme Fatale Collectible Stat Cards 2/20

Seems to me that Zynga is pumping out crap for us to purchase at an alarming rate this week.

Only 4 days and 7 hours plus left to spend more money on this thing, to get some more Skill Points.

I just adore the small print on this one: "Haven't recieved skill points from the punches you earned earlier? Don't worry. Get one more punch on your reward card and you'll receive your unrewarded Skill Points."
I can almost hear some guy saying "Trust me!".

Next up! Femme Fatale Collectible Stat Cards!

If you purchase some of these items you have a chance to loot the Bow, weapon [252/252]

Meh. This is starting to get a little pricey lately. Where are our fancy schmancy Mafia Wars coffee mugs or T-shirts after we've spent, I dunno, how much time or how many dollar$ you think we should spend before we have some tangible object to hold in our hands to say "Yes! I spend an exorbitant amount of time and/or money on this silly online game!"?

Daily Point Nerfed 2/17

In what is another vain attempt to draw players into the Arena, Zynga has nerfed the Daily Point with an Arena Power Up (this started on Valentine's Day). Today's Power Up is a Kamikaze which will help toward the "God of Death" achievements but that one skill point per achievement won't do much to advance your account if Arena Power Ups are now the norm instead of a Daily Point!

A Miracle has occured! 1/15

Zynga games are back online! (At least they are here in Southern California as of 8:45 pm)
Sadly, for some players, the games are still not up. I sure hope Zynga gets their collective *items* together before morning!

White Screen of Death  post from 4 hours ago.

White Screen of Death all Games all Zynga'd 1/15

If you have tried to play *any* of Zynga's games in the last 25-30 minutes you're probably getting the white screen of death, or a game loaded, but it won't play, or it is skipping and jumping and acting like a "nutter".
Zynga is aware of the issue. Here is their giant explanation:

It's hard to read, so here is what it says:

"Zynga games are currently unavailable for some players due to technical difficulties. We are working hard to resolve the issue and hope to have things back up and running very soon! Thank you for your patience!"

That's it. On the support page, on "known issues" up at the top, no discussion is allowed, as it is not a "topic".

Nothing on the Official Mafia Wars Blog since December 24th.

Okay, be back later then.

Vendredi noir... quel desastre! 11/23

Black Friday, what a disaster!

In less than 12 hours, Zynga, Facebook and Mafia Wars have been working hard to alienate their own, very loyal, customers, again.

Several members of my Mafia Wars Family and other players have been so excited about the %60 Off Reward Points Black Friday Sale that they either a) Ran right out and bought Zynga Game cards at a local retailer or b) purchased on line Reward points, only to discover that:
They were now Facebook credits, and that Zynga or Mafia Wars was somehow unable to recognize their purchases.  There have been many exchanges between these players and Customer Service. As far as I can tell so far, there is still no resolution.

2x Builds and Game Cards...Where are you???

I will never understand why Zynga loves to establish a clear and identifiable pattern  and then completely break from that pattern.  The pattern I refer to: the predictable appearance of a 2x build on the friday night of a major marketplace promotion (this one being pathetically called "Sports").  I accumulated thousands of reward points Thursday and Friday for the sole purpose of the highly anticipated 2x build....and surprise surprise, it never showed!

Here it is the weekend, I will be home all day today and likely tomorrow watching  football.....and I am sitting on all these reward points.  WHERE THE HELL IS THE 2X BUILD????  What freaking dipshit for brains morons are running this operation??? I mean, I know, I KNOW it is not a new revelation that Zynga is run by the stupidest scum that corporate America has to offer, but what the hell???  I mentioned in another article that you can't "rape the willing" (read it here)...well I am here and I am willing.

Another major problem I have is that the normal Zynga gamecards are vanishing off store shelves and being replaced by similar looking, but very very different Zynga Facebook Game Cards.

In the above picture, the card on the left is the normal Zynga game card. The card on the left offers 155 reward points during normal redemption, and 310 RPs during 50& off redemption.  That is the only card I want.

The card on the right looks deceptively similar, but offers VERY different compensation.  If you choose to value it at $25 you would receive the same amount of RPs you would by using your credit card in the game to buy RPs (via Facebook Credits). With no discount, the card on the right will get you only 106 RPs for $25, and 215 RPs at 50% off.

So it alarms me to see that all the stores in my area, Wal-Mart, Target, CVS, Rite-Aid, Game Stop, Best Buy - all of them, are switching to this card on the right. LAME.  It appears that the normal GCs will still be available online, but I do not have a credit card or bank account....last time I checked the computer does not accept cash.

And Zynga, could you make these cards look any more pathetic? I feel like a freakin sissy fruitcake buying this shit in the stores.  Maybe I should wear a pink tutu and tights and a tiara - that would seem like appropriate attire for buying these cards in public.  It's freakin' embarrassing.

Bottom line: Zynga, for the millionth time, QUIT CHANGING SHIT!!!  Could you at least be consistent???  Jerks.

Anyway....here is a picture of a cute puppy lol :D Cheers killas.

2x Builds...My Thoughts

I am sure everyone has gathered by now that 2x builds are going to be a regular event.  We can be sure these will continue to pop up at various times every week.  I admit I enjoy these 2x builds.  It is fun to see how many reward points I can blow in 30 minutes.  BUT.....yes, BUT, I believe these 2x build are disastrous.  Disastrous to both the game and our wallets.  Let me preach on it...

Surely everyone recalls the health fiasco.  Players had built up so much health that many many players were basically un-iceable.  Zynga finally came up with a solution by changing the damage formula.  Well gee golly if zynga hasn't done gone and basically reintroduced the problem.  2x builds allow a player to rapidly increase their health to the point of being un-iceable all over again.  Congratulations zynga we are all going in a giant circle. (And you can bet zynga is aware of this problem, and likely doing it on purpose).  So i guess they will AGAIN have to alter the damage formula.  And for those of us who have not beefed our health up to 50,000, we will be screwed.  And those of you who did beef your health up will suddenly find your self getting iced :D . You spin me right round like a record.

We can also view this 2x build dilemma from an economics viewpoint.  It is a bit like priniting money.  The more money the government prints, the more worthless it becomes.  The 2x builds introduce a tremendous amount of skill points into the player population, thus devaluing the skill point.  And just as inflation via printing more money really hurts the poor people more than the rich, this mass influx of skill points hurts the non-spending and mild spending players.  I am a spender.  I will easily drop $100 to $200 on a 2x build, but I am not even a big spender, believe it or not. There are players spending much much more than that on these 2x builds.  And even spending what I am, I will never ever come close to catching them.  My skill points have been devalued, and so have yours. And even missing just ONE 2x build greatly hurts the ability to remain competitive.  I have witnessed it.  I missed one 2x build and saw it impact my fighting ability.

I think we all KNOW what this is really all about: MONEY. Zynga has found a new and reliable way to RAPE our wallets and purses.  Of course, I guess you can't rape the willing....however I could argue that many of us are not willing, we are slaves to this addiction.  Zynga knowingly exploits our addiction. It ain't rocket science.  While it is true that zynga is a business that endeavors to earn a profit, their methods are exploitive and disgusting and unethical.  Zynga purposefully creates a crisis and then introduces remedies that essentially require players to spend $$$ in order to continue to enjoy the game.  It would be like a burger joint selling poisoned burgers then ALSO selling an expensive medicine with the burger to keep you from getting sick!!!!!! Mark Pincus is living large while we are scrambling to redeem game cards at 50% off.

I guess in the mean time I will keep making my bed in a burning house.  I am an addict.

Predator Stat Cards 9/01

In the eight months plus since this new Zynga gimmick: Collectable Stat Cards post, I don't see any great changes to what they've done here.  Just out of some sick sense of curiosity I went to look at this a little more closely today. I have to say, unless someone else can convince me otherwise, this is the absolute worst crap Zynga has put out to date. There is a "chance" to loot this fancy item:

Giant Wheel, Vehicle [225/225]

My question is this: How much of a chance? Is it like the California Lottery, or the Mega Millions? Those odds are at least printed *plainly* on all of the lottery materials. This is a mess!

Even if you bought these cards at the *magnificently* discounted rate of 3 for 42 Reward Points, to get a full set, you would spend 504 Reward Points to get enough cards to fill all 36 purple spaces!

That would be great if you got a different card every single time, and zero duplicates, but I am assuming that doesn't happen; it is *Zynga* after all.
No Sale.

2x Builds....where the HELL are you?

If you're like me you have a job.  I work construction/remodel, and computers just aren't really part of my work day, so when the bastages at Zynga SCHEDULE a two FREAKING hour BLOCK of time to do these elusive 2x builds while I am working, it sort of chaps my ass a bit.

I have BLASTED customer support about these damn things numerous times, because I always seem to miss the 30 minute blocks, but the whole 2 hour block in the middle of the damn work day really tore it wide open for me.

I have been sitting on several hundred RPs since then, AND have had 3 days in a row off work.....and there have been no more 2x builds....YES, I have now reached the appropriate level of anger to blog about it.  A friend in my white tag family said it quite well:

It's as if Zynga KNOWS when I am gone (facepalm).  I spend a stupid amount of money on this game only to get shafted by these type of "events" that i can't participate in when I am gone from the computer.  Zynga has set the game up to make it  hard to stay competitive without living by the computer.  Hmmmmm.....I think we should all collectively hire an attorney and SUE the pants off of them for all sorts of punitive damages.

Lately my desire to continue this addiction has been waning.  As more and more people quit, it's easier to run across the egotistical and maniacal players that take the fun out of the game for us who chose not to spend $20k a year on RPs or buy injected accounts.  I have had had people defriend me and remove me from mafia over the pettiest of bullshit. And then Zynga adds fuel to the fire with these 2x builds.

The only real reason I continue to play is because of the decent people and good friends I have met and made.  At this point I still find it too difficult to say goodbye.  But every day and with each damned bi-weekly fire sale and all the special events and CRAP, zynga makes it easier and easier.  The bullies and the ego monsters make it easier and easier.  I am holding out longer than most, and if you are reading this, then you are too. But one day all that will be left will be the monsters.

Wow kinda went to a dark place their :P  In closing, let me say I hate you Zynga, from the heart of my bottom I hate you and what you have done to Mafia Wars.  Now please set up a private 2 hour block of unlimited 2x builds personally for me :D

Marketplace Mess (facepalm) 8/10

With Zynga stock in the toilet and the Resignation of their COO they seem to be getting desperate to show increased earnings by selling us more and more crap.

This week in the Marketplace in game we have loads of stuff to spend cash or Reward Points on.
Today's is Pick Your Own Bundle.

Earlier this week we've had Finally a Bargain LMAO
Rewards Card deal.

And of course these lovely collectible Cards

Sorry guys, I'm still on my Mafia Wars Spending Diet.
No Sale.

FINALLY, a "Bargain" LMAO

You may or may not have noticed a small change to this "amazing" deal from Zynga. Now instead of earning 4 skill points, everyone in your family will now earn (get ready for this) FIVE skill points when 400 Bongos are collectively purchased.  This "bargain" offers 1 Bongo for 35 Reward Points, or you can buy up to 50 at one time for the AMAZING price of......35 Reward Points each, or 1750 RPs. Yeah....buying in bulk will not change the price.  The Bongo is an animal that offers 188 attack.  It is NOT worth buying ONE of these for 35 RPs much less 50 or freaking 400 at the exact same incredible low low price.  Oh, and in case your are freaking out right now that you might miss this INCREDIBLE deal, do not fret, you have roughly 18 hours to, and I quote, "Complete all four tiers and buy your way through again."  Yeah, I am not making this crap up.

This "bargain" has always made me laugh, and the slight change by offering ONE more measly skill point makes me laugh my ass off even harder.  WHO THINKS THIS CRAP UP????  And the bigger question: DOES ANYONE FALL FOR THIS "BARGAIN"????  My family will not be.

You know what might actually be a bargain?  If by buying the item, everyone in the family earned the item too - now THAT would be a bargain!!!!!  And couldn't they at least offer a discount for the more you buy?  I mean, if they cost 35 RPs for one, then shouldn't they become cheaper the more you buy?  Even the punk dealin' crack rocks behind the Stop'n Go on 9th skreet know that....sheesh, give me a freakin break Zynga.  They are on a role lately with the "deals".  Another one that has me rolling on the floor: Daniela's Deal....don't even get me started on that garbage.  FREAKING RIDICULOUS.

Daniela's Deal (not) 7/27

*facepalm* If I thought I would be playing for another year, I might take this up but....no.

From what I read, it seems to me Zynga is saying, "Hey folks, buy 260 Reward Points now, let *us* hold them for you, and we will give you ten Reward Points per week for the next 52 weeks" And yes, that is double the money. With the mess that's been going on the past 16 weeks, I can't say that I see myself playing  in 52 weeks. Sorry kids, I'm just not that into the spending on the game.

UPDATED Gifting Insanity

****UPDATE: Zynga took action, probably too much action, and made many items back to being ungiftable.  Gold Treasure Chest keys being among them, and of course the items needed for the limited time events such as mafia poker.  Some of those are good to not be giftable. UNFORTUNATELY, Special Parts and Exotic Animal Feed are also among the items that are no longer giftable.  Zynga can't get it right to save their lives.  Morons. I RECOMMEND EVERYONE CONTACT CS AND DEMAND SPECIAL PARTS AND EXOTIC FEED BE MADE GIFTABLE AGAIN!****

Well, I am stunned by this recent gifting expansion by Zynga.  It is LONG overdue.  And it's also fraught with error.  Either by oversight or apathy, Zynga has created an unfair advantage for certain players.  Gold treasure Chest Keys are giftable.  The items needed for ALL 3 current limited time events are giftable....which really leaves me scratching my head.  The knob wrenches, the parts for Ripped Rims, AND Poker Cards are giftable....this is obviously a great thing for players with multiple accounts, and an even greater thing for people who have multiple accounts that actually get played often.

I am no judge of people with minis. I have several.  I think minis are one of a few reasons the game survives - they drive the DAU number up considerably.  I'd say AT LEAST half the DAU are mini accounts, if not more than half.  My judgement, as always, is reserved for the idiots at Zynga.

I am, however, excited about the new life this has breathed into the trading community, which was all but dead.  The trading community was a special part of Mafia Wars. Maybe some people who quit playing when trading died out will come back.  I know I will be compelled to do some trading to get my hands on some of these damned treasure chest keys.  I am also pumped that special parts and exotic animal feed are now giftable.

So my final thoughts are: I am saying "Way to go, Zynga" in two very different ways at the same time. One is very sincere, one is very sarcastic.

uh,

UPDATED Garage Sale My Ass

UPDATED 7/13/12:
50% GC REDEMPTION AND IN GAME RP PURCHASE SHOWED UP TODAY. If you bought reward points or redeemed gamecards yesterday I'd go bitch at CS :).  ALSO - Don't be surprised if they unload newer and much better crates on us for cheaper towards the end of the sale like last time. {ℳ} Қetąmῗиe Қῗd =Ʀ²Ƒ=

Original Article 7/12/12:
Is Zynga out of their minds????? This sale is an EPIC FAIL for so many reasons.  I'll give you three:

FIRST: We JUST had a sale!!! Good grief give us a break!!! It isn't our fault you screw up everything you touch and are going broke.  You should have listened to your player base back when you had over million people who gave a rats ass about mafia wars.  Now it is just 100,000 players and their minis LMFAO.

SECOND:  No sale on game card redemption.  That was really the only reason I got loaded on reward points - the 50% discount.  Hell, it's a good deal.  But this time - no deal. Maybe they will offer it before the end of the sale (but honestly, I hope they don't even bother).

THIRD: Reward points purchased in game with CC or FB credits are not their usual 50% to 60% off.  Hell, at the time of this writing they were not even 30% or 40%.

It is terrible timing for me.  It has rained non-stop where I live, and in the construction business that means little or no work, so my MWs fund is very low.  I will largely be sitting this sale out.  OH WELL. The more frequently they have these sales the more obvious it becomes that I am an idiot to continue to blow money on them.  SCREW YOU ZYNGA.  SCREW YOU MARK PINCUS.  Lol.  I love saying that. It just feels.....right.

Yours truly,

Coming Soon... New Secret District (facepalm) 7/11

[Boss Fight: Defeat Miss Mausoleum]
I saw this post and (facepalm) happened:
The Mafia Wars Fan Page just posted this image:

New Secret District: The Obelisk of Sao Paulo

There will be bandits

But don't *freak out*, though they've again been very busy creating event fatigue in the players,
Zynga still has left some things not completed yet!

But we still have *no* Bossfights as a Family

and we *still* do not have the third Family Property

The Wine Cellar (Facepalm)

Surprise, surprise.....Zynga has dumped another limited time property on us.  Ok, it's not really surprise.  We knew it was on the way.  The continued release of the @#*!%^$ properties is obviously never going to stop until the end of the game, and with the DAU slipping away that may be sooner than we think (1). Well surprise, surprise Zynga: I am not doing this stupid property, just like I did not do the one before this one. I have enough stress in my life thank you very much, and I am here to preach te same message I preached about the DIY Weapons Lab (2) - DON'T BUILD IT.

Do not reward Zynga's idiotic behavior by even touching these damn properties!!! Zynga needs to listen to its player base, but why should they when so many players give in and build these stupid things? Zynga has proven in the past that they do hear what we say, and sometimes they comply. They are simply ignoring the player base on this limited time property bullcrap.

People quit playing over the continued release of these properties. And many, like myself, feel like quitting and get one step closer to waking away. I love this game. I love the friendships that have come from it. I love the social and "political" nature of the game. The game truly is a phenomenon, and Zynga's greed and stupidity is suffocating it all. Mark Pincus the Dingus and his minions are destroying not only the game, but the culture of mafia wars. Don't help them do this to the game.

Yours truly,
