Wrist Rockets Oops Update

Many players are now getting this pop-up in their game to compensate for all the confusion yesterday about the Wrist Rockets getting pulled <told ya>:

Dear Mafia Wars player,

On June 27th, we had a bug in the Steal of the Summer sale that accidentally gave some players who did not participate in the feature the Wrist Rockets mastery item. To correct the issue, we had to temporarily remove the Wrist Rockets from your inventory.

We have restored your items, and you now have 1 Wrist Rockets. We're sorry for the inconvenience and credited an additional 5 Defense points to your account.

Thank you,
Mafia Wars Team

+5 defense points - not bad!

Wrist Rockets Oops

A lot of players are noticing huge jumps in their attack and defense while fighting. A bunch of other players are reporting buying some marketplace items and getting way more of the reward item Wrist Guards than they should have. I'm not sure if the two are related, but I would check your inventory of these items. If there has been a mistake with these items, I'm sad to say we can probably expect a rollback :(

Steal of the Summer starts

You'll now notice the Steal of the Summer banner on your Mafia Wars home page, so the 4 day long sale has begun.

"We've got a massive sale on most items in the Marketplace, so take advantage of the Steal of the Summer to earn the Wrist Rockets before the event ends on June 30th at 11:59PM PDT."

You can see the progress bar at the top of your Marketplace screen - that'll keep track of how many items you have purchased towards the 15th item. I already see some decent deals, actually. Even I might consider picking up a Benefaction for 7 RPs!

Steal of the Summer

The Mafia Wars blog has also posted an update about the 'big sale' that they've mentioned a few times now. The sale will be starting later today, and will last for 4 days. When you buy 15 items, you get an extra item: Wrist Rockets (72/125). I don't see any limit mentioned on how many of the Wrist Rockets you can get, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's a limit after all. This is limited to only marketplace items, so won't include Fight Club purchases with VCs, or Trader No Goh, or also items priced under 5 RPs (which, isn't that often).

Look for it soon. This might be a good time to get stamina and energy refills.
