Freeze Limited Time Arena Power Up 2/27

Freeze, new Arena Power Up, More Arena Push

In the 9 zillionth attempt to make the Arena more exciting than it is, Zynga has decided it needed a Freeze to help make it more popular.

We get to post a Power Card Beg from this banner, which is nice, because we can build one Freeze for 2 Power Cards (limited time only 12 days 10 hours remain)

Since I had some power cards, I built a few. Here is what they do:

"Block an opponent from attacking you (10s). Cooldown 10s."

When these expire, it appears they will revert to Power Cards. I assume we will not get 2 cards for each Freeze. I *assume* we will only get 1 Power Card per Freeze, but they aren't saying.

I already can't stand the stupid Arena and even though there is this mind-numbing Luchadora Arena Event  I still don't want to purchase this chunk of junk. I haven't read any rave reviews of the Arena yet, and haven't heard from anyone of the magnificent benefits it gives out, and I don't see it helping my red-tag family so, still, no sale, but thanks for the offer, I guess.

Luchador Arena Event 12/5

Get yourself a Luchador, henchmen [varies] by fighting in Arenas.

Only 9 days and 4 hours from now to do whatever this thing is supposed to be....

I have to be honest, I just got this new feature, I don't like it, it doesn't make sense to me and the explanation for it was so long I lost interest about 2 pages into it. I'll give this puppy a try just to see if I can get the Luchador, but I'm not excited about this garbage at all.

Coming Soon Update 11/15

The Mafia Wars Event Page Coming Soon added some new images, this mushroom cloud one from 8 hours ago is yet another power up.

This post on the Mafia Wars Fan Page seems to state that the Arena is open. I haven't got it yet. I guess it will open sometime today. We'll see.

Coming Soon.. new video and... 11/9

There has been more build-up of suspense about the Arena on the Mafia Wars Fan Page than we've seen for quite a while, but still pretty much nothing on The Official Mafia Wars Blog

The image above is posted on the recently created Mafia Wars Event "Coming Soon"
with the question "Can you guess the name of this power up?"

Today on the Fan page The Arena: Seize The Fight Video was posted, full of thrilling guitar riffs and exciting graphics hoping to get us all excited about the new Arena. I don't know about you, but I will probably not stay up until midnight tonight to see what all the fuss is about.

to click to get more information on this event yet, but here is what we have so far.

Powercards Begging!

Powercards: collect 10 each from jobs and fighting, 15 from collecting from friends posts in feed, 15 from your feed posts to collect up to 50 per day. Looks like the new whatever it is will open in 5-6 days.

What we collect them for:

After I collected 20 of the Power Cards I collected the bronze Abetter and clicked "Go to the Arena"

It took me back to the big page and it had a fighting prompt:

Click 5 times to kill, so I did! And this is what happened next:

When we have collected 50 of the Power Cards we get the Abetter silver tier [140/185]

Then we get to click 5 more times

Which opens up the graphic a little bit more:

When you collect 100 Power Cards

You will get the Gold tier Abetter

Followed by 5 more clicks

Which leaves us with this:

When you collect 150 Power Cards you will get the Ruby Abetter

Go to the Arena to do your 5 clicks

Which then opens this up a little more

After collecting the 230 Power Cards necessary to finish this up

Collect the Emerald Abetter

We get to click 5 tiimes once more

So that we can see... coming soon. Normally when Zynga does an enormous build up to the grand opening of something like this, it's a huge let down for me. We'll see.

Why this looked familiar to me?  London Will Burn Continued with the disappearing parchment.
Maybe we are getting a new city. We'll see!
