If you don't have the Powerpacks on your Mafia Wars homepage yet, and one of your friends sends you a powerpack - better not accept it. Not unless you want a Mystery Boost instead :-/
Update:
This was a Power Pack I accepted from the Facebook Gifting area... it would have been #11... it turned into a Mystery Boost as well... not a Mystery Bag.
I had no option to return since I had sent one to Read earlier. ~Nancy

Zynga survey on Mystery Boosts
Yep, another survey from Zynga, this one about Mystery Boosts.
I'm indifferent to the Mystery Boosts in general. We end up getting a lot of garbage boosts from them, but the occasional energy boosts are nice. What do you think?

no more sending free gifts from fight list
When this feature was added recently, some questioned why it said "Send Boosts" and yet took you to the Free Gifts screen. Personally, I found it easier to access the Free Gifts screen from there, rather than digging through tabs, but that is not the case any longer. When clicking on Send Boosts from the fight list, you now will be prompted to do exactly that - send boosts.
Because I send sooooo many mystery boosts as it is, that needs to be my only option. /sarcasm.
Why does Zynga spend money and allocate funding and resources to minor things like this? I'd much rather go without borderline nerf "tweaks" like this and see them seriously allocate some time to working on other issues.
Mystery Boosts, to be precise. Sigh.

Mystery Boosts are here
The Mystery Boosts that we've been hearing about are finally here.
I'm not entirely blown away by these, but at least you get multiple boosts. I guess we'll see how useful they will be. Has anyone gotten anything awesome from these yet? I've got a few more to open...

This & Next Week 7/1
The Mafia Wars blog has published the third edition of weekly news. You can read it in its entirety HERE. I'll skip what happened this past week, because I think we've all had enough of that. Nothing major in the bug fixes, and what's awesome about this coming week is what's NOT listed - a ton of events! I know I've started grumbling lately about the need to slow down events again. There will be the now-customary weekly mission event, and those mystery boosts that never made it out this past week. I suggest we show our appreciation of the slowdown by spending more time PLAYING the game, so Zynga doesn't think events is all that keeps us coming back!
This Week's Major Bug Fixes
BUG: Kills, which count as two ices elsewhere in the game, were not counting at all toward ice counters in "Ice X opponents" mission tasks.
FIXED: Kills now add 2 to mission task ice counters. <I noticed this>
BUG: Friend names were not filtering correctly while one typed in the "Start Typing a Name" box on the Free Gifts page and the Inventory Gifting page.
FIXED: Name lists now filter correctly in response to what a player types.
Coming Next Week*
*As far as is currently scheduled, but things can change.
New Mission: Jackpot
Join Michelle Paulis and do anything to win in a mission to rig the lottery in your favor.
New Mystery Bags
Boosts are coming! Send friends the new mystery bags and they could get a crazy amount of rare fighting boosts. The combined strength of these boosts would make Popeye trash his entire supply of spinach!
