At stats of 92 attack and 66 defense, the item doesn't suck, but I've already seen a few players complaining that these aren't even active items for them. So it might help you, it might not. This won't intrude on your game though. This generates some news feed posts, but nothing excessive; there's a limit so players can't generate the post over and over, although it doesn't say what the time limit is. And so far I don't see an extra home page banner to glare at.
You can also collect from two such feeds posted by your friends to collect 2 more, for a total of 5.
After you collect your two items from friends' feeds, you can't collect any more for yourself, but you can still help them.
