The Don's Gift--Adrenaline Rush--no wait! Point 4

The Don's Gift has been gone from my account today, which I didn't think anything about. I did find it odd when The Don's Gift reappeared a little while ago with the same item as we had yesterday, the Adrenaline Rush. Nooo....I didn't get extra Adrenaline Rushes, either, I checked. I think someone at the Zyngon headquarters just flipped the wrong switch. It has now been changed to a Point 4.

Inventory item changes for The Don's Gift

Oh hai! I've been in the habit of running the Inventory History script at least a couple times a day, which usually turns up new inventory items that have been added to the Mafia Wars general inventory. Inventory changes don't turn up very often, but tonight's run turned up some changes in the stats of the Don's Gift items.

These items were originally put into inventory back on the 6th of this month, and as you can see, each item's high stat has been increased between 8-12 points each. These items thus far have been met with lackluster reviews, as most serious players recognized the stats as less than stellar.

This might not be a huge gesture on the part of Zynga, but I have to say I appreciate this. They don't do many things that the players truly like, and it's really nice to see changes in our favor for once.

And here I thought they forgot about The Don's Gift :) It doesn't look like anything very exciting. Maybe one of those "12 Days of Christmas" things, but we'll see. You can make a post to the news feed by clicking the Share button under The Don's Gift header on the Free Gift page, to earn up to 3 of the Point 4s. At stats of 92 attack and 66 defense, the item doesn't suck, but I've already seen a few players complaining that these aren't even active items for them. So it might help you, it might not. This won't intrude on your game though. This generates some news feed posts, but nothing excessive; there's a limit so players can't generate the post over and over, although it doesn't say what the time limit is. And so far I don't see an extra home page banner to glare at.

You can also collect from two such feeds posted by your friends to collect 2 more, for a total of 5.

After you collect your two items from friends' feeds, you can't collect any more for yourself, but you can still help them.

Other than "from Gifting", I didn't see any further information in Inventory about what these are for. We've got something called "Don's Gift" scheduled for this week...that would be my best guess.We'll find out soon.
