Final Hours for Ice Season 14 and Dearly Departed mission event

Two events will ending in Mafia Wars today, starting in just under 5 hours when Ice Season 14 bows out.  The Dearly Departed mission event will be exiting the game a few hours after that. I forgot to collect from my Truck Shop a 4th time last night for the Bonus Quest: A New Beginning, so now I will be cutting it very close to complete the mission event--by 7 minutes! Fingers crossed. I haven't been doing so well with the ice seasons anymore, and frankly I've given up. Zynga throws too much competing crap in the game at one time and I'm tired of trying.

Best of luck to you all, if you're still working on either of these. I'm sure they'll be quickly replaced with someone else, as Zynga has gone into event overdrive lately. We really need a break.

Ice Season re14

If you didn't yet collect your Ice Season 13 reward, you can now also collect it from the Mafia Wars home page banner now up for Season 14. Not much of a break :-/

If this sounds familiar, it's because this Ice Season was accidentally released back on October 18th.

You'll have less time to get more ices with this season; the previous Ice Season was 1500 ices in 2 weeks, this Ice Season is 1000 ices in a week. I'm not thrilled with this, as it gives me even less of a chance of actually completing this; but whatevs, I'd pretty much given up on attaining Diamond 5 over the course of the past few seasons. There are always too many competing events. It probably won't be that hard for everyone though; if you have no problem completing gold mastery on your daily Family ices mission, then you'll have this thing in the bag before it comes to a close. Enjoy.

Ice Season 14: the White Lion

The Ice Season is back for Season 14 with a grand prize of the White Lion.

Unfortunately for me, it appears they've gone back to the week-long timer for 1000 ices. I was never able to complete them on that time frame, so I'm debating whether I should even give a crap about this one. After so many weeks of trying and failing, I was quite happy that I was able to complete the last ice season, which lasted longer for half as many ices. I'm not sure I want to go back to being reminded week after week that I can't reach Zynga's imposed goals.

On the other hand, maybe it won't suck so badly if Zynga continues to space the Ice Seasons out with some breaks in between events.
