Final Hours for Ice Season 14 and Dearly Departed mission event

Two events will ending in Mafia Wars today, starting in just under 5 hours when Ice Season 14 bows out.  The Dearly Departed mission event will be exiting the game a few hours after that. I forgot to collect from my Truck Shop a 4th time last night for the Bonus Quest: A New Beginning, so now I will be cutting it very close to complete the mission event--by 7 minutes! Fingers crossed. I haven't been doing so well with the ice seasons anymore, and frankly I've given up. Zynga throws too much competing crap in the game at one time and I'm tired of trying.

Best of luck to you all, if you're still working on either of these. I'm sure they'll be quickly replaced with someone else, as Zynga has gone into event overdrive lately. We really need a break.

Dearly Departed mission #10: BONUS QUEST: A New Beginning

This is the 10th and last mission in the Dearly Departed mission event for Mafia Wars. Called "A New Beginning", you might think at first that it will never end. Winning 300 fights in Chicago took around 1500 stamina. The hold-up will be collecting from your Truck Shop in Chicago every 8 hours. As for clearing 20 robbing boards--if you click Go Now it will take you to Chicago to start robbing, but you can clear robbing boards in any city in order to fulfill this objective. As of now all I'm waiting on is collecting from the Truck Shop; I should have this completed tomorrow morning. And good thing, this mission event events tomorrow night.

BONUS QUEST: A New Beginning

Thomas Chou

You are not going to stop now, are you? Time to flatten the opposition.

Objectives

• 0/300 WIN 300 FIGHTS IN CHICAGO.

  Bring the pain.

• 0/20 CLEAR 20 ROBBING BOARDS.

  Bust some windows.

• 0/5 COLLECT FROM YOUR TRUCK SHOP 5 TIMES.

  Get your take.

Dearly Departed mission #9: Another Fire

This is the 9th mission in the Dearly Departed mission event, called Another Fire. You'll probably find that the last objective is the hardest, 0/25 LOOT 25 INCRIMINATING DOCUMENTS FROM JOB: "EXPOSE A TREACHERY IN YOUR FAMILY". In light of that objective, winning the other two objectives should be easily accomplished.

Another Fire

Thomas Chou

This is where it all began - a fire in a warehouse. Will you let it end here?

Objectives

• 0/45 WIN 45 FIGHTS IN CHICAGO.

You are sorry it had to come to this.

• 1/10 ASK FOR 10 CHICAGO CASH FROM MAFIA.

  Forgiveness can be bought.

Friends who help get a reward.

• 0/25 LOOT 25 INCRIMINATING DOCUMENTS FROM JOB: "EXPOSE A TREACHERY IN YOUR FAMILY".

There is no way out for those who survive.

Dearly Departed mission #8: Dissension

Hmm, the first objective was already mastered for me once I reached the 8th mission in the Dearly Departed mission event: Dissension. That's the second time it's occurred to me. I haven't asked around about that, but last time this happened, at least one person told me they still had to do the job the specified number of times in order to complete the objective. I thought it might be because I already mastered the job, but then again, it didn't take doing the job 60 times to master it.

Anyway, your Headquarters are in Brazil and you can collect every 8 hours, which took me a day and a half to finish. Getting support from 10 of your mafia should hopefully not be very difficult. As usual, you can fulfill this objective just by accepting the crew requests from your mafia members, but you also can't tell what crew member request is for which mission in the ZMC, so it's a good idea to send out some requests anyway.

Dissension

Thomas Chou

Ambition rears its ugly head. They think they are better than you. They think you are redundant.

Objectives

• 60/60 JOB: "ORDER A HIT ON DISLOYAL ASSOCIATES".

• 0/10 GET SUPPORT FROM YOUR MAFIA.

Now would be a good time for the loyal to show their support.

• 0/3 COLLECT FROM YOUR HEADQUARTERS 3 TIMES.

  Can loyalty be bought?

Dearly Departed mission #7: Follow or Perish

This is the 7th mission in the Dearly Departed mission event for Mafia Wars. As with some of the previous missions, the wait time (for me) was due to the amount of energy expended on doing jobs. I spent around 7000 energy getting the objective 0/40 JOB: "CATCH A SABOTEUR". I guess I could start playing these missions from my old E-ho account, but that wouldn't be as much fun, now, would it? :)

Acquiring the animals is pretty easy--you may be tempted to buy them in the city stores, but I would suggest simply obtaining them as loot drops while fighting. You'll probably get some of them from completing that third objective of fighting opponents in New York, in fact.

Follow or Perish

Thomas Chou

Old dogs can be taught new tricks. Bend them to your will. Show them who is in control.

Objectives

• 0/15 ACQUIRE 15 ANIMALS.

  Strength in numbers.

• 0/40 JOB: "CATCH A SABOTEUR".

  Lead by example.

• 0/80 FIGHT 80 OPPONENTS IN NEW YORK.

Show them you are the boss.

Dearly Departed mission #6: No Mercy

The sixth mission in the Dearly Departed mission event, and this one will take another couple of of days.  Fortunately the night I started this, I hadn't declared a war so I was able to get started right away. You can declare a war every 8 hours, which amounts to about 2 wars a day for me, so I completed that portion this morning. The Melvillio Brothers will just appear as NPCs on the fight list for you to attack for this mission.

I'm still working on the first objective, 0/30 JOB: "ELIMINATE THE COMPETITION" today, but I'll get that finished...after about 8,000 energy. I saved it for last because I didn't want to use my double Chicago mastery on this job.

No Mercy

Thomas Chou

They quiver in fear at the mere mention of your name. Don't hold back now.

Objectives

• 0/30 JOB: "ELIMINATE THE COMPETITION"

  Hunt them down.

• 0/4 DECLARE A WAR 4 TIMES.

  Up close and personal.

• 0/7 TAKE OUT 7 MELVILLIO BROTHERS.

They have been eluding you for so long - the Melvillio Brothers.

Dearly Departed mission #5: The Hunt

The fifth mission in the Dearly Departed mission event is The Hunt. You can collect from your Truck Shop every 8 hours, which will be the most time-consuming part of this mission. This one took me a couple of days to get through, just due to me being involved in the Family for Christmas. Probably the icing 25 opponents in Brazil was the biggest pain for me; it took a power pack and a level up for me to get that done. Not an overly difficult mission all in all, though.

The Hunt

Thomas Chou

Let the games begin. You will be ruthless. You will show no mercy.

Objectives

• 0/4 COLLECT FROM YOUR TRUCK SHOP 4 TIMES.

People need to pay their dues.

• 0/25 ICE 25 OPPONENTS IN BRAZIL.

Teach them a lesson in respect.

• 0/10 ROB 10 BARRACKS.

  Humiliate them!

Dearly Departed mission #4: The New Order

The New Order is mission #4 in the Dearly Departed mission event for Mafia Wars. I shoulda-woulda-coulda had this one finished quite quickly, but you know how intrusive that Real Life thing can get sometimes :D I think when I started this one I was pretty low on stamina, and so it slipped off my radar.

You won't need a huge amount of stamina though to get this one done. Clearing 4 robbing boards can be done in any city, so if you're low on stammy, flip through the cities and find boards with lower stamina costs. Winning 35 fights in Italy isn't so bad either. Unless you get stuck waiting on stamina to replenish like I did, probably the most waiting you will have to do is waiting for your mafia to answer requests for Documents.

The New Order

Thomas Chou

There are so many moving pieces to this puzzle. Time to put them all together.

Objectives

• 4/4 CLEAR 4 ROBBING BOARDS.

• 8/8 ASK FOR 8 DOCUMENTS FROM MAFIA.

• 35/35 WIN 35 FIGHTS IN ITALY.

Dearly Departed mission #3: Eulogy

This is the third mission in the Dearly Departed mission event in Mafia Wars, and I was surprised to find one of my objectives already fulfilled. I did a few jobs in Brazil recently due to the recent 3x Brazil mastery event, but Belem, where the job INTIMIDATE THE LOCAL CRIME RING is located, has been long mastered. I don't know if this was a mistake or on purpose, but I'm darn glad not to have to do that job 40 more times!

Getting support from your Mafia should (hopefully) be fairly easy. You'll have to send requests, unfortunately, and wait for people to answer them, but you can also work towards this objective by answering support requests in your ZMC. Unfortunately you can't tell which crew member request in your ZMC is for what >.<

It appears you DO need to rob in Brazil to complete the robbing portion of this mission, no shortcuts. And yes, you do have to WIN the robbing attempt for it to count for this mission.

Eulogy

Thomas Chou

Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust. We all fall down. But some of us get back up!

Objectives

• 0/5 GET SUPPORT FROM YOUR MAFIA.

All for one, and one for all.

• 40/40 JOB: "INTIMIDATE THE LOCAL CRIME RING"

• 0/40 ROB 40 TIMES IN BRAZIL.

Steal back what is rightfully yours.

Dearly Departed mission #2: A Friend in Need

You can build from your Warehouse every 23 hours, so this one will take at least a day to complete.

I usually build the Dapper Flapper, the highest attack item.

When activating the required 6 crew members in Chicago, remember to go slowly. The counter in the mission bar can't or won't keep up with fast clickers, and will end up miscounting--and not in your favor--if you go too fast.

For the objective LOOT 15 CONCRETE SHOES FROM JOB: "UNCOVER A PLOT AGAINST YOU", I thought I would be sneaky and build the Concrete Shoes from my Speakeasy....didn't work >.<
So you're stuck having to actually loot the dang things...all of which took me over 3000 energy to accomplish. Kind of a pain when there are other things you want to do with your energy, I know.

A Friend in Need

Thomas Chou

Is there someone you can trust? Go to them. Take their help and heal yourself.

Objectives

• 0/2 BUILD 2 ITEMS FROM YOUR WAREHOUSE.

  Use whatever you can.

• 0/6 ACTIVATE 6 CREW MEMBERS IN CHICAGO.

You need people you can trust around you.

• 0/15 LOOT 15 CONCRETE SHOES FROM JOB: "UNCOVER A PLOT AGAINST YOU".

All supplies will come in handy.
