We have several players reporting that their accounts have been rolled back several days and that their progress on the many different events in the game has been lost. Of course, with so much going on in the game, Customer Service has been slow to reply to these players or has not replied at all (yet)/ We will keep you updated as we get more information.

more on "server maintenance" and rollbacks
Lots of peeps have noticed the disturbances in the Mafia Wars continuum. This has to do with some changes Facebook has been making, and Zynga working to be compliant with those changes, and something didn't go quite as planned. Many of us have noticed strange issues with the game in the last short while - refreshing, prompting to reinstall, landing in someone else's account, to name a few. Some emergency measures seem to have been taken, and with the issue of some people ending up in someone else's account, I'd say let's go with the rollback and give them a minute to fix this.

Mafia Wars: War loot ROLL BACK screw up
Since the first whispers of war loot roll backs, many players have been worried about getting caught in Zynga's sweep even if they didn't deserve to be. I really thought that, with the time Zynga was taking, they would be thorough and take pains to NOT roll back innocent players.
As soon as the roll backs started happening last night, it was immediately apparent that lots of people had been unfairly caught up in the sweep. At first I reserved judgement, wondering how many people were complaining who really deserved it. But when the second round of rollbacks started, and I started looking at the stats of some of those affected, the problem was glaring.
My friend Gloria Carroll posted this picture on her profile to express how she feels about this situation, and she's definitely not in exclusive company. Lots of people are PISSED.
And lots of people got Mo' Pissed when Zynga put out their "customer support" document about the rollbacks. It has the usual blah-blah-blah to say, but the last paragraph contains the slap in the face to those unfairly rolled back.
I call bullshit. And so do a lot of others.
Check out these Get Satisfaction threads that have sprung up overnight on the subject. Look at all the likes and comments on all of them. Zynga won't listen? I think they have to.

If you were rolled back and do not believe you should have been, contact Zynga's customer support.

"Because this issue was caused by abnormal behavior we will not be able to restore those stats or offer compensation for the issue."While there's no question that some individuals deserved the rollback, it seems that Zynga missed the boat in this situation. In their effort to be stern and firm on the subject, they've basically said they aren't going to sh*t for the players who didn't deserve to be rolled back.
I call bullshit. And so do a lot of others.

War loot rollbacks kick off
Yes, the buzz is correct, the war loot rollbacks have already started, as many players are now finding out. Some are saying they got rolled back and didn't deserve it. In fact, quite a few are saying that. If you feel that you have been unfairly caught in this sweep, you should definitely contact customer service.
All I can say is, thank jeebus. They took longadamnnuff.
Scrubbers - hate yer luck, but you can't say you don't deserve it. Scrubber haters, shut the #$%^ up now and play your own game. I am so sick of people arguing about this.

more info on War Loot Rollbacks
Late yesterday, the Mafia Wars blog posted a quiet little update about the upcoming war loot rollbacks. The original public announcement was made two days ago during Mafia Wars Live. This blog post does supply some additional information, such as that these rollbacks will be occurring "over the next few weeks" and that it will only affect tier 2 high-end war loot and above. Here's what they say:
Declaring war and helping your friends out with their wars is a great way to collect some awesome loot. Because the war loot is so awesome, we limit how much of it can be collected in a day to maintain game balance.
We have discovered that some of you have collected more than you should have. We will be reclaiming this extra war loot over the next few weeks. This will only effect non-giftable, tier 2, high-end war loot and above.
So, to recap: If you have collected more high-end loot from wars than you should have, we will be adjusting your quantity of that loot to what you should have earned within the appropriate limits.

WAR LOOT ROLLBACKS ANNOUNCED
You may have heard about a little workaround or glitch that allowed some players to receive unlimited loot from helping in wars. You might have also heard about a little script called the Scrubber. There's been a bit of cheatermania going around. Mania or not, though, a lot of players are really upset about this issue and Zynga should be doing something about it.
My personal viewpoint on the matter? I don't really give a fig newton about someone maxxing out on war loot. I'm a follower of the skill point, and I don't usually go out of my way for loot items. I sure as hell don't waste time trying to figure out and getting upset about who's cheating. As paranoia among my friends grew about war loot exploiters, the subject frankly became a pain in the ass. I wish Zynga would hurry up and fix it so people would stop their bitching and get back to their games. Believe me, I have given Zynga an earful on the subject.
I found out last week this was in the pipeline, but I've started to wonder what's taking Zynga so long to fix this issue. Finally, last night on Mafia Wars Live, they announced that "there's going to be some adjustments to some accounts" in addition to changes to prevent this exploit. Mike Nestor singled out the exact clip of video from the broadcast in which this is addressed. It's quite short, so you can hear it for yourself. Credz to Nestorface and the Loot Lady blog for this clip.
Here's what Nate said:
"Declare War, there's been some issues with that, and some exploiting going on. Shame on you guys, shame. We're going to be rolling out some changes to that and rolling out some changes to prevent the exploits from happening. There's going to be some adjustments to some accounts to bring it back to a fair, level playing field. There will be more information on that, it's something that is very needed. We wanted to make sure we had an understanding of what's going on and be able to focus to make the right changes happen to the right people"I know a lot of people are worried about getting wrongfully caught in this rollback sweep, but I think you guys will probably be ok. The last part of what Nate says is about making the right changes to the right people.

fight system rollbacks?
A LOT of people are saying that they've been rolled back into the old fight system. A moderator's post in the forum seems to indicate that it's a mistake, and that those players will be restored. I'm guessing that's what he means anyway. I still have the updated fighting system and I would be hella mad if they pulled it.
