Un-freaking-believable. This, from the Mafia Wars Blog:
We at Mafia Wars are committed to making all aspects of your gaming experience more enjoyable and have two exciting developments to announce:
One thing we are working to improve, based on your feedback, is the gift event experience, specifically the amount of time it takes to complete these events. We are excited to announce that the next gifting event will require fewer gifts to be sent and received, while continuing to carry the same type of reward for completion. We hope that reducing the gifting in this event will allow you to spend more time in the game itself, leveling up, icing your enemies, and generally enjoying the dangerous streets in the exciting cities of Mafia Wars.
Amount of time it takes to complete the events? That was NEVER an issue, certainly never an issue that PAC presented. WTF? It's the spam and the frequency, which has been said over and over by many different people.
It goes on to say:
Mafia Wars is also excited to announce that your feedback has inspired us to replace the Mini 6 Energy Pack with a full Energy Pack sporting the following features:Yeah, and all those complaints about the mini-energy packs was because Zynga required an inefficient method of spam to get the damn things. I said all along - put in a news feed post, just like the original. They finally get around to "testing" that out, and pull it and replace it with something else? I'm quite doubtful here. Some may argue that you get more energy, but I'm foreseeing a lot more waste.
With more energy than you’d get from shotgunning 7 of your favorite energy drinks, you can enhance your strategy, complete more jobs, and level up faster than your enemies, so go out and put these new Energy Packs to work!
- 125% refill
- 8 hour refresh
- Use up to 3 per day!
We appreciate your patience and feedback while we work to find the right balance to the Mafia Wars experience.
I can't even be nice about it. This is flat-out stupid, Zynga. It stinks, all of it.
MAKES U WONDER? THEY DON'T ACTUALLY PLAY THIS GAME THEMSELVES CUZ THEY WOULD KNOW WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT. IT IS JUST SOME IDEA IN THEIR HEAD. SO LAME!
ReplyDeleteI used to love the collecting events once every two months or so, but once one event has finished another has began. Jeeez let s catch our breath.
ReplyDeletePersonally they have become so frequent i just don't do them. Where i used to love to have a comp with the girlfriend to see who could finish them first.
Oh ffs. How can they keep repeating epic fail after epic fail like this? The mini e-packs are great, you just need the 1 feed post like you say.
ReplyDeleteDon't even get me started on the spam/pop-up events though, time to see what carnage is being wrought on the forums..
Great, back to wasting my energy and/or stamina, truth is players who don't understand how to take full advantage of the game and/or players who don't have many friends to ask for the refills win here. You're right, all they had to do was put a news feed post for more energy not a gift request, problem fixed! I hardly use my Brazil property boosts for the same reason. I end up wasting it, because you have to collect all of them together. Time to readjust my strategies once again!?
ReplyDeleteAnd while they're busy revamping the gifting events, tell them I need the "crack the Safe" and Still not able to initiate the New Operations :(
ReplyDeleteI think it's part of a 'grander scheme' strategy, wherein Zynga attempts to remove all previous memories of how awesome the game USED TO BE by drowning the players in so much crap, constantly.
ReplyDelete..."specifically the amount of time it takes to complete these events."
Pincus, dude, you gotta get it together, man! Seriously? That's the 'knowledge' you garnered from PAC and Angry Mob? I mean, I'm not surprised, or anything, but the way you constantly lower the bar for your company's standards is frankly embarrassing!
-'CF'-
The PAC are being make out as being short for "Pacman" and just eating up all the crap that Zynga feeds them.
ReplyDeleteIf I was on the PAC I'd be 7 different ways of pissed off.
I think the limited time missions NEED more time, when you have like "Collect from your 8 hour properties 3 times, and build 2 vehicles, and win 1 war", which will eat 4 days easy if you lose the war.
The 3 x Gifting events most of my (non-addicted) mafia, who only have their real friends on their facebook (which is facebooks rule remember) and have like 20 active mafia at best are suffering.
There is so much going on at any given time they are spending their 20 requests getting "Support from your mafia", Energy packs, harmless spiders, special parts, exotic animal feed and god knows what.
The Events NEED more time, or how about some revolutionary thinking, how about ONE AT A DAMNED TIME, how about evolutionary thinking, how about a gap between them, so people can get there animal feed, special parts and stuff without it all being go go go go.
Equally Un.frigging believable is the Crack the Safe promotion which requires the addition of new Friends to one's Mafia in order to advance in the event. The Facebook fascists then embark on a reign of terror, threatening players and blocking accounts anywhere from mere hours to upwards of 7 days or longer as we attempt to meet the requirements for participation. We are either immediately blocked, forced to relinquish our friend invite lists, or told we're spamming and threatened with future sanctions etc. The threats follow a set pattern and oftentimes don't always relate to the situation. I've been prevented from: sending singular requests to friends, confirming the friends who have responded or messaging said friends to inform them of same. The very fact that my friends are accepting my requests renders Facebooks 'spam' contentions a moot point, I would think. Facebook had the audacity to PREVENT ME FROM SENDING A MESSAGE TO MYSELF!! They blocked that one as well and sent an additional threat about my contacting folk that I don't know and the consequences I would face if I continued with that behavior. Really, now...I don't know myself??? CeeLo you, Facebook.
