Zynga's Q&A: #11 Carrying over excess energy and stamina

#11 from the list

11. Whenever I level up, my energy, health, & stamina points refill, which is cool, but I lose any points I had remaining, which is not cool. My existing points should just be carried over and added!

This is related to the strategy aspect we consider integral to Mafia Wars. The effective use of one’s energy and stamina proves how cunning a mobster they are. While it can be frustrating to watch the unused points go to waste, the choice to sacrifice those points is still up to you. You can wait it out to maximize the benefit of the points you have, or use a pack to speed up the leveling up process. Each time you make that decision is another important step in your quest to becoming the baddest mobster you can be.

Please share your feedback regarding Energy & Stamina Points When Leveling

For once, I am in complete agreement with Zynga on something. I believe that being able to plan ahead to minimise the wastage of stamina and/or energy is an integral part of the game. Mafia Wars is not a first person shooter, it is a STRATEGY game if nothing else. Even working on a basic 2:1 ratio for both energy and stamina, you should be able to plan ahead and see whether it's worth using your next energy-pack or maybe load up on crime sprees instead.

If you think you're going to end up wasting a load of resource before your next level, try and get into some Operations (one of the energy jobs on the Evade Op offers a wonderful 1.14 ratio), repeat a low ratio regular job somwhere (early NY chapters for example) or do a couple of NY Boss Fights (with your cash out of course) to try and get back on track. I don't expect Zynga to pander to our every need and people's inability to plan ahead.

  1. Well said Nick. I do agree, it's an integral part of the game, and allowing for unused energy to rollover would create some serious energy banks for some players.
