Server Maintenance - again - among other problems

I was be-bopping along the fight list, when all of the sudden my game started reloading. It looked like it was a white screen, but it was just sitting reloading over and over. Then it prompted me to reinstall the game, then it reloaded itself again.

Lo and behold, server maintenance cometh again. And there are reports of other blips in the continuum, potentially problematic? What the heck is being maintenanced now?
