{K}..Looks like it's time to go through the old fb requests yet again!  There is a free gift from Mafia Wars there for many people.  As with the others, if it is not there, and not in your inventory..contact CS.

Should be this type of request.  (yes, I know..been a while :p )

"SIZE DOES MATTER" comes with decent enough numbers at 93/158. 

With Italy getting locked down..I'm going to miss the extra skill points from the port.  If they try and tell us that the new limited time properties are to replace it....THEN LET US BUILD MORE THAN 5 ITEMS IN NY!!..

Otherwise, the replacement city hopefully will let us build skill points.

MAFIA WARS unlimited free gifts!

 

A few days ago, lots of players noticed that they were reaching the daily limit for accepting Mafia Wars Free Gifts after accepting only 20 or 30 gifts. There were several posts on the Mafia Wars forums about it, and it happened to a few of my Facebook friends. I didn't think much of it, because it didn't affect me and was already "fixed" by the time I got around to looking into it.

Zynga posted that they were pushing a fix for this, and what many of us have been noticing since that time is that we can now accept unlimited free gifts! I assumed this would be temporary, but it's still in place as of a short while ago. I'm up to almost 500 gifts accepted on one account, and I've seen players who have accepted over a thousand. I thought maybe it had something to do with the type of gifts accepted, and maybe it is, but with that many gifts being accepted by some players? Hard to say. It doesn't have anything to do with a script, either, because I know players who aren't using scripts and they are encountering this as well.

What have you experienced?

I was hoping this might be a permanent thing, but Customer Support sseems unaware of any changes. I was told by one CS agent that they were aware of this happening for a few accounts but they don't have any information on it, and as far as they know the limit should still be 250. So I guess enjoy it while it lasts, until we hear otherwise.

Requesting Help From Your Mafia Is Now Easier Than Ever!

From the Mafia Wars blog. This means that Double Gifts are gone, but I think I don't mind that. It would be even nicer if we could bypass the Facebook requests page altogether, but short of just ignoring that page, it doesn't sound like it's going to be the case. I wonder what happens when the ZMC is full. Will back-logged requests show up after accepting current gifts and then refreshing?

Requesting Help From Your Mafia Is Now Easier Than Ever!

Sending & requesting gifts and asking your Mafia members to join your City and Mission Crews has received an upgrade to make getting help from your Mafia easier than ever! Here are the recent changes to the Requesting experience:

A New Look

The Facebook-style list and buttons that previously appeared in the Request window have been replaced to better match the look of Mafia Wars. (See the Crew Request window at left as an example.)

Select More Recipients

The maximum number of recipients you can select at a time has been increased to 50, and you can send gifts and requests to multiple batches of 50!

Fewer Clicks Required

You can now check a box that allows you to skip seeing Facebook's request post preview and second "Send Requests" button when you send requests to the same recipients in the future!

How To Send Requests With Fewer Clicks

When you receive the Facebook request post confirmation window the first time you send a request with the new system, make sure that the box next to "Don't ask before sending Mafia Wars requests to..." is checked before clicking Facebook's "Send Requests" button. This whitelists the recipients so you aren't presented with the Facebook request post confirmation window when sending requests to them in the future. Whitelist your entire mafia and you may never have to see that Facebook request post confirmation window ever again!

A Note About Mafia Wars Requests on the Facebook Game Requests Page

The enhancements above were made possible by shifting the handling of Mafia Wars requests to be entirely in-game. Another change that results from this is in the behavior of Mafia Wars requests on the Facebook Game Requests page. Before, you were able to accept Mafia Wars requests on that page. Now, the "Accept" buttons bring you into the game, where you can accept all gifts, etc. in the ZMC. Also of note, handling requests entirely in our system means the error codes KE-29, AF-77, and MC-24 sometimes encountered when accepting gifts through the Facebook Game Request page will cease to be problem! These error messages will become a thing of the past once all old requests are cleared out, which should happen within approximately 30 days.

Power Packs

There's a new Pack in town, this one's the Powerpack. It just started hitting some accounts within the past few minutes, so don't worry if you don't have it yet.

Once the power packs hit your game, you won't be able to miss them. There's the obligatory Mafia Wars home page banner - from here you'll be able to ask for Power Packs via a news feed post to your friends.

"Power Packs can be used to recover Health or Stamina. They can be used to gain 125% Stamina every 8 hours, or 200% Health every 10 minutes, and you can store up to 10 at a time."

You'll be able to keep track of how many power packs you have in the progress box. You can have up to 10 at a time.

Family Filter for gifting to return, apparently.

Although this information was specifically requested in a Get Satisfaction thread today, it was apparently ignored. Cerulean Master did, however, bother to post the answer in a similar thread on the forum. That was nice of him. Funny how the flow of information works.

At any rate, it sounds like the feature will be returned to us. That's good news.

Family Filter removed from Free Gifts screen

On July 12th, we noticed that a Family filter had been added to the screen from which we send Free Gifts. I thought it was "nifty", and have occasionally made use of that filter when sending free gifts.

Cruising around over at Get Satisfaction this afternoon, I ran across a post questioning why the Family filter was removed. I checked my account, and I don't see it anymore either.

This is what it used to look like. I think Zynga should add that back :-/

Free Gift pop-up isn't really a "bonus offer"

I was really happy when I remembered that I had a few Facebook credits laying around from a previous purchase, because I ran out of reward points and I've got a ways to go before Bangkok is finished for me!

I was a little surprised when I got a pop-up wanting me to brag about the purchase. Oh yay, I got "free" Baht. /sarcasm

If you happen to see these in your news feed, don't get too excited even though it says "free gift" and "bonus offer". The "bonus offer" isn't really a bonus, it's the same offer everyone has, and clicking this post will only take you to the marketplace in Mafia Wars.

I sent out a few batches of gifts a little while ago (yes, I still take the time to do that) and I noticed some additional text on the screen. The confirmation closes quickly, so I sent some more gifts - this time with my finger ready over the PrtScr button.

Hey! Did you know that you can send more requests? Yes Zynga, we know :0)

The limit is from Facebook, but for a long time now they have only limited us to batches of a certain number. We've been able to send technically unlimited gifts for quite a long time, actually. And now Zynga wants to be sure you know that! So send 26, then send 26 more, of a different gift if you want, then 26 more, etc., etc.

Be very careful how you plow through your gifts... the stamina pack refills the meter as soon as you open them... Use FGS / JGrabAll / or other click savers at your own risk.

Your first warning might come in the Facebook gift area:

Once you click "Accept Gift:

Your stamina will be filled to the top... but no extra.

There is a 16 hour timer... but not a visible timer... just an internal clock. If you accept another one too early it will turn to a Mystery Boost...
