You may have shown Roughhouse Rafael who's boss, but I’m no ordinary boss lady. You will need to make sure your aim is right and slashes are lightning quick if you hope to stop me and take possession of my very special pet! But be careful, her scratch is deadlier than her meow. Now, come and fight! I'll show you and Roughhouse how it's done! ~ KassinaCome on now, who posts this stuff? That's silly. I'm almost done with the boss fight already (and no, I don't want it to be made "harder"...I want the old boss fights back), and others are already done. At least Roughhouse Rafael was new.

LOL! The Mafia Wars blog has posted this update:

will there be a quest/mission/achievement for Kassina Kunoichi??
There seems to be some confusion over what's actually to be expected of this Kassina Kunoichi boss fight event.
The FAQ clearly states there's going to be a quest and an achievement, but it's just as clearly only a copy and paste of the Roughhouse Rafael FAQ, so who knows how accurate this really is?
There's already a forum thread wondering about it. In that thread, one person claims that Zynga told him there were no plans for a mission or achievement.
Then there's the image used on Kassina Kunoichi's FAQ ~ kind of looks like an achievement, doesn't it?
It seems that no one's sure!
Maybe Zynga should revise Kassina Kunoichi's FAQ...

Review of Roughhouse Rafael Boss Fight Event
**republishing for archive purposes, due to blogger's recent mishaps**Zynga has been trying some new types of events lately, probably partially in response to the enormous player outcry over constant gifting events, so I thought I would dissect this latest new boss fight event a bit. I'll try not to editorialize, and just point out what I liked and didn't like about it.
There is, though, the major issue of many players such as myself completed the event prior to being able to earn the achievement. For me, Zynga's customer support was very quick and willing to resolve my customer support ticket on the matter; I was pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately though, a lot of players don't realize that they CAN contact customer support about this, so I think Zynga ought to award the achievement to all players who complete the event prior to the quest for the third combo, without them having to ask.
Something that I think definitely made this event bland for me was the lack of interaction with my mafia about it. Just because we don't want to rely on gifting and Facebook requests constantly doesn't mean we don't like to interact with each other - in fact, that's the best part of the game for most of us.
Comparing this boss fight event with old boss fight events (Beat The Feds, On In San Juan, Rumble In Russia, etc), I like those old boss fight events a lot better in general, minus the host of bugs they had. With those events, we were really helping our mafia when we attacked the bosses they were trying to beat. It was fun to try and out-do other helpers. It was fun to see how long we could whittle down a boss before getting crushed. It was fun to keep track of the progress each of us made in boss fights - not just our own, but our friends' too.
I liked that there was an achievement associated with the event. That's a plus.
While gifting was involved, at least it was only for one of the items. However, collecting the other items was a bit of a pain. Drop rates for the ammos were absolutely terrible. Awful. Atrocious. Icky-yuck.
As far as the combos, I'm kind of "meh" about them. Since there were only 2 combos to be found through "self-discovery", all of the news feed posts about them were the same thing, over and over again. There either needs to be a lot more combos to make those news feed posts worthwhile, or the news feed posts for the combos need to be eliminated since they were redundant and therefore Spam.
Even though the issue of the achievement was resolved for me, I still don't get to take part in the "quest" for the third combo, so I can't review that although I hear it's coming soon. Which kind of sucks, but it was my decision to go ahead and finish the event.
All in all? Not a bad event, but not my favorite.

feedback survey on Roughhouse Rafael
On your Mafia Wars homepage module, you should now see this survey that Zynga wants us to take on the boss fight event just passed. I have a lot of feedback!
They want to know if we enjoyed it. I only answered yes, because there was no "it was ok" option... I didn't hate, but I can't really say I enjoyed it, either. Anyway, moving on.
On the next page, they're a little more specific. As you can see, the only option that I selected as for why I "liked" the event was that it was different. On the next question, you can select things you think would make it better. I thought the level of difficulty and how long it took me to finish it was ok, no need to make it harder, but I felt it was lacking in a lot of other areas.
The last question wants to know in our words what other comments we had about Roughhouse Rafael. I pointed out that I still like the old boss fight events better. I appreciate some variety in the game, I guess, but I don't get why they didn't set to work on fixing the bugs of the old boss fights since so many players have stated how much they liked them.

Missing: Roughhouse Rafael (or not)
Apparently a lot of players are wondering where Roughhouse Rafael went. I'm seeing this in my news feed and there's also talk on the forums about it: http://forums.zynga.com/showthread.php?t=1027486
There seems to be quite a bit of confusion. Some are reporting that even the ammo items disappeared from their inventory. Others are wondering why ammo items are still dropping if the event is over. It's also been pointed out that the timer on the event still showed plenty of time. I can't attest to that fact, as I finished the event several days ago and so it hasn't been showing on my MW home page.
I'm not real sure there's a problem here though. The 411 states that the event would end on May 17th. Well, that's today :0)
Cerulean Master says "We have someone looking into whether the boss should still be active". Maybe there was a question of the event being extended? Who knows.
And these "Boss Fight Consumable Items" are indeed still dropping.
But if you look under the Operations tab, you'll notice the boss fight tab is still there. It just says you don't have any boss fights pending. Maybe we'll be seeing some more of these boss fights somewhere in the near future.
ETA...and now he's back, with an 8 hour timer. Get to it.

Achilles Heel: reduced to 5 cracks of the bat
If you're working on the new mission and have gotten to the Achilles Heel part, you were probably horrified to find that you needed to get 12 cracks of the bat from robbing. I know I was! Jennifer mentioned to me that in her game it had been reduced to 5, but apparently even that was on a slow rollout as mine still said 12 last night. Today though it has indeed been reduced to 5. That's good.
Problem is, I don't think I've gotten one single crack of the bat from robbing, so I'm not sure the reduction will even do me any good!

Roughhouse Rafael 411
The info is on Zynga's site now for this event, click here to read it for yourself.
The items that can be collected are:
- As with most events and features, this was said to be on a slow rollout, although my guess is that almost everyone should have it by now since this came out late last night.
- Ends on 5/18, so we have a week.
- The boss will regenerate health every 8 hours, or if you run away from the fight.
- No stamina is used, instead we must collect "ammo" (the new boss fight consumables)
The items that can be collected are:
- Shotgun Blast -> 25-35 damage. This consumable is a free gift and can be found in feeds.
- Knife Slash -> 5-15 damage. This consumable may be found by completing Jobs.
- Knuckle Punch -> 7-13 damage. This consumable is may be found when Fighting.
- Crack of the Bat -> 9-11 damage. You have a chance at finding this consumable when Robbing.
- There are three combos, two if which are already known. One Combo will also be found by completing a Quest Event, which will begin after the Boss fight begins and will continue for the duration of the event.
- Jobbing, fighting, and robbing consumables are limited to collecting 50 a day. The limit is 40 a day for the giftable consumable.
- Once you've reached the limit, consumables received as free gifts will open as Mystery Bags.
- Three mastery levels to this boss; bronze, silver, and gold.
- Once fully mastered, you will be able to continue beating the boss through the end of the event. The information doesn't say, but I wouldn't be expecting multiple mastery items from that.
- The timer resets each time you beat the boss.
